Terms of service
Last updated 25 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you (the business using Gridline) and [Company name] Ltd, trading as Gridline, company number [company number], registered office [registered office address] ("we", "us"). By creating an account you accept them on behalf of your business.
1. Who can use Gridline
Gridline is for businesses only, not for personal or household use. You must be 18 or over and have authority to accept these terms for your business. Consumer protection rules for individuals don't apply.
2. Your account
- Keep your login details safe. You're responsible for everything done through your account, including by people you invite.
- The person who creates the account is the owner and controls billing and team members.
- Give us accurate details, including the business details that go into your email footers.
3. Free trial
New accounts get a 7-day free trial with the limits shown on our pricing page (currently 100 emails, 1 user, 1 inbox and 200 leads). When the trial ends or its limits are reached, sending pauses until you choose a paid plan. We don't delete your data when a trial ends, but we may delete trial accounts that have been inactive for 90 days. One trial per business.
4. Plans, payment and cancelling
- Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe and renew automatically until cancelled. Current prices are on our website and in the app.
- Extra users on the Pro plan are charged per user per month. Adding or removing users mid-month is prorated.
- You can cancel any time in Settings. You keep access until the end of the month you've paid for. We don't refund part-months, except where the law requires it.
- If a payment fails, we'll ask you to update your card. If it still isn't paid, sending may pause.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email. Changes apply from your next renewal after the notice period.
5. Using Gridline properly
You're responsible for the emails you send and the calls you make, and for following the law, including the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. In particular, you agree:
- to only contact people where you have a lawful basis, and to have consent before emailing individuals, sole traders or personal addresses;
- to tell people who you are, honour opt-outs promptly, and not remove or hide the unsubscribe link or footer;
- to check phone numbers against the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) and Corporate TPS before making marketing calls, where required;
- not to send spam, misleading or illegal content, or anything that impersonates someone else;
- not to use lists that were obtained unlawfully;
- to follow your email provider's own rules and sending limits;
- not to misuse, overload, reverse-engineer or try to get around the limits or security of Gridline.
Gridline includes tools to help with compliance, but they don't guarantee it, and nothing in the app or from Griddy is legal advice. We may suspend an account that breaks this section, that causes complaints, or that puts our service or other customers at risk. Where we reasonably can, we'll tell you first.
6. Your data
Your leads, emails and other content belong to you. You give us permission to use them only to run the service for you. Our data processing agreement forms part of these terms and applies whenever we handle personal data for you. You can export your data at any time while your account is open.
7. Connected services
Gridline works with services we don't control, such as your email provider, Stripe and Adzuna. We aren't responsible for them, and they can change or limit how they work with us.
8. Availability and changes
We work hard to keep Gridline running and secure, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may improve or change features over time. If we remove something important you're paying for, we'll give reasonable notice.
9. Our intellectual property
Gridline, its software and its branding belong to us. You get a non-transferable right to use the service while your account is active. Feedback you give us can be used to improve the product.
10. Liability
- Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law.
- We aren't liable for loss of profits, sales, business, goodwill or data, or for any indirect or consequential loss.
- We aren't liable for the content of emails you send, how recipients respond, or any fines or claims arising from your use of the service in breach of section 5.
- Our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period.
- You'll cover our reasonable losses if a third party makes a claim against us because of emails you sent or a breach of section 5.
11. Ending the agreement
You can stop using Gridline and cancel at any time. We can end the agreement with 30 days' notice, or straight away if you seriously break these terms. When your account closes, we'll delete your data as described in our privacy policy. Export anything you need first.
12. General
- We may update these terms. We'll give at least 30 days' notice of important changes. Continuing to use Gridline after that means you accept them.
- If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction.
